Corporate Boat Trips in Punta del Este: Teams and Clients

If you are organizing a corporate outing in Punta del Este, whether to strengthen your team or to entertain clients, you can do it on a private boat with a captain departing from the Port of Punta del Este. We put together tailored trips for company groups: boats for groups of different sizes, routes that adapt to what you are looking for (calmer or more active), and catering on board or the option to bring your own food and drinks. The boat is exclusively for your group, so you have complete privacy and the day is planned the way you want.

Here we explain how it works, what options you have and how to organize the outing so it goes well.

What types of corporate outings can you do on a boat?

Several kinds of trips work very well for companies, and the choice depends on the goal of the day and the profile of the group. If you want something relaxed and upbeat so the team can get to know each other outside the office, the boat trip to Gorriti Island is ideal: you anchor off the island, people swim, listen to music, eat on board and relax. It lasts from two hours to half a day or a full day, depending on what you need.

If the group wants to do something different and share a team activity, the fishing trip works very well: you leave early and fish on the banks near Gorriti Island with rods, reels and bait included, and the captain teaches you how. It is suitable for beginners and you can grill your catch on board. It is a trip that builds plenty of camaraderie and stories.

For something more contemplative and scenic, the boat trip to Solanas and Punta Ballena, lasting four hours or more, follows the coast, passes Casapueblo and the caves, and anchors at Solanas for a swim and a meal. It is perfect for groups looking for something calm and visual, and it is great for watching the sunset from the water.

There is also the Isla de Lobos boat tour, three hours in total: you sail for about 45 minutes to the island, go around it to see the sea lions, the historic 1858 lighthouse and the birds, and then anchor nearby so that, if the sea allows, people can swim with the sea lions around them. It is the trip with the most visual impact and works very well for entertaining clients.

How is catering on board arranged?

You have two options: book catering with us or bring your own food and drinks. If you prefer to bring it, no problem: the boat has room for you to set everything up as you like, and depending on the boat there is a grill on board. Many groups bring their own catering or order platters and drinks from outside.

If you prefer us to take care of it, we can arrange finger-food catering on board. We discuss it when you confirm the booking and send you options based on the size of the group and the type of trip. For large groups it is the most practical choice, because everything arrives organized at the boat and you do not have to deal with anything.

How many people can go on a corporate boat trip?

It depends on the size of the group. We have private boats with a captain for groups from 4 people up to 120 in total (that is the capacity of the whole fleet, not of a single boat). For a small corporate outing, say a team of 10 to 15 people, you can go out on a comfortable, nimble boat. For large groups of 30, 50 or more people, we plan the outing on larger boats or several boats that leave together and anchor in the same place.

The boat is always private, so you will not share the trip with anyone other than your company or your guests. All trips leave from the Port of Punta del Este, and we send you the exact meeting point when we confirm the booking.

What happens if the weather is bad?

If the sea is not in good condition, we reschedule the trip for another day that suits you or refund your money. We do not go out if it is not safe, so the decision is always made by the captain based on the forecast and the state of the sea.

What does the trip include and what should I bring?

The trip includes the private boat with a captain, life jackets for adults and children and everything needed to sail safely. Depending on the boat and the type of trip, there may be a grill on board, a paddle board, inflatables and a bathroom. For fishing, rods, reels and bait are also included.

What you need to bring depends on the plan:

  • Sunscreen, towels and swimwear if the plan includes a swim.
  • Warm clothing if you go out in the low season or on a long trip.
  • Food and drinks if you prefer to bring your own.
  • For fishing, comfortable clothes and a cap or hat.
  • A camera or phone for photos (with a waterproof case if you have one).

You can also bring music: ask us about the sound system on your boat so you can play your own playlist. If you have any particular needs (for example, a guest who needs shade the whole time or easy access to the bathroom), let us know when you book and we will see which boat suits you best.

When is the best time for the outing?

We go out all year round, so you can organize it in any season. In high season (December to March) demand is higher, so it is best to book further in advance, especially if your group is large or you want a specific date like a Friday or a weekend.

In the low season (April to November) there are fewer people on the water, the weather can still be lovely (especially in autumn and spring), and you have more flexibility with dates. Many companies take advantage of the low season for team-building outings because it is quieter and prices are usually more affordable.

For fishing trips it is best to leave early, so keep in mind that the day starts first thing in the morning. For the other trips, you can choose the time that suits you best: some groups prefer the morning, others midday, and some the late afternoon to enjoy the sunset.

Can you combine more than one destination?

Yes, if time allows. For example, you can do Isla de Lobos and then stop at Gorriti Island on the same trip, or extend the Solanas trip to include other stops. We discuss this when you make the booking, based on the hours you want and what the group is looking for.

Are there options for smaller or executive groups?

Yes, for smaller groups or more executive-style outings, sailboat rental can be a great option. It is a full-day trip under sail and motor, with a captain included, for groups of 2 to 12 people. Guests can take part in the sailing if they want (no sailing experience needed), and the sailboat has a bathroom and kitchen on board. It is a more intimate and elegant outing, ideal for entertaining a small group of VIP clients or holding a relaxed meeting away from the office.
