Since the price is per boat, the more of you there are, the less each person pays. Some examples using the high-season reference prices:

• 3-hour trip for 20 people: from USD 900 for the boat, about USD 45 per person.

What makes the price change from one trip to another?

Four factors drive the final price:

The season

Demand is much higher in summer, especially in December, January and Carnival. In the off-season you will find lower rates, more availability and fewer people on the water.

Hours on the water

Since the price is per hour, a boat trip to Gorriti Island, which can be done from 2 hours, is not the same as a 4-hour-plus trip to Solanas or a full day of fishing.

Group size

The boat is chosen according to how many of you there are. A boat for 20 people costs more per hour than one for 10, but the cost per person is usually lower.

Type of trip

Some trips are shorter and simpler, and others involve more sailing or equipment, like fishing trips in Punta del Este, which include rods, reels and bait. Extras such as catering also add to the price.

What does the price include?

The price includes the private boat, the captain and the fuel, so there are no extra sailing costs added later. The boat is just for your group, and the captain takes care of the sailing and chooses the best spots depending on the sea and the wind. Life jackets for adults and children are also included.

Catering with finger food on board is optional and quoted separately. If you prefer, you can bring your own food and drinks. Many groups bring everything for a barbecue on the boat’s grill while anchored.

Which trips can you do?

These are the most popular trips, so you can work out how many hours you need:

• Gorriti Island: from 2 hours, half day or full day. Anchoring off the island to swim from the boat, with music and a grill on board. Depending on the boat, there is a paddle board and inflatables. You can bring your pet.
• Isla de Lobos: 3 hours in total. We sail around the island to see the sea lions, the lighthouse and the birds, and if the sea allows it you can swim with the sea lions around you. You do not go ashore. It can be combined with Gorriti on the same trip.
• Fishing trip: half day or full day, leaving early. Gear and bait included, and the captain teaches you. When you get back we clean your fish.
• Solanas and Punta Ballena: 4 hours or more. We sail along Playa Mansa, pass in front of Casapueblo and anchor at Solanas to swim and eat. Ideal for sunset.
• Sailboats: full day under sail and motor, for groups of 2 to 12 people, with a bathroom and kitchen on board. If you like, you can take part in the sailing.

What happens if the weather is bad?

If the sea is not in good condition on the day of your trip, you do not lose what you paid: we reschedule for another day or refund your money. The captain checks the conditions before setting out, because safety comes first.

If you are only here for a few days, leave some room in your schedule. The weather often improves the next day and the trip can go ahead.
